Job Description

JOB TITLE: Director of International Child Development (ICD)

CORE TEAM: International Child Development (ICD)


SCHEDULE: Full Time; Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $65,000 – $75,000, annually


Reports to: Jill Cawiezell, Vice President of International Child Development

Coordinates with: ICD Team, Country Leadership, Partner Care, Finance, and Expert Services (ES) Leads

Job Purpose Summary

Provides support to ICD Leadership and Expert Services Leads to facilitate program quality, the flow of information, and timely tracking of critical assessments. Serves as a liaison to Partner Care and Finance providing coordination and project management tracking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring & Evaluation
    • Collaborate with the Evaluation Team, ICD leadership, and ES Leads for data collection and follow up phases for the annual program quality review, WASH survey, and other periodic surveying.
    • Collaborate with countries and Partner Care on tracking updates, rapid updates, and correspondence.
    • Monitor communications from the countries to ensure that they are archived on SharePoint and shared with key stakeholders.
    • Monitor and update budgets every six months to ensure revenue and expenditures are aligned for each country.
  • Proposal Development & Financial Tracking
    • Support large-scale program quality improvements through collection of key cost elements and potential funding sources.
    • Support proposal development.
    • Monitor designated gifts to prepare for monthly wires.
    • Monitor budget reports and ensure that they are archived on SharePoint and shared with key stakeholders.
  • Ongoing Program Quality Improvement
    • Support Vice President of ICD and Expert Services (ES) Leads to maintain necessary infrastructure to assure program excellence.
    • Monitor quarterly reports and share highlighted information with ES Leads to guide ongoing improvement.

  7. Use a high degree of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and professionalism in dealing with staff, partners, and international partners;
  8. Operate a computer, word processing, and spreadsheet software and other standard office equipment;
  9. Organize, research, and maintain complete and extensive office files;
  10. Communicate clearly, effectively, and ethically in writing and orally;
  11. Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with VT staff, donors, and field partners encountered in the course your position.

  10. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities;
  11. Self-starter;
  12. Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a related field;
  13. Efficient with Excel and developing complex analytic frameworks;
  14. International travel and collaboration experience;
  15. Team player.


  1. Experience working across disciplines to facilitate integrated improvement.
  2. Master’s degree in a related field.
