Myanmar (former Burma) is a located just south of India and China in Asia. In 2008, Cyclone Nargis left a devastating mark on the country. As one of the deadliest storms in recorded history, the cyclone killed 145,000 people, displaced millions and destroyed homes, businesses, schools and agricultural jobs. This devastating disaster, coupled with military rule and poor economic management, has left the country in dire poverty. The children are especially affected.

Our goal is to help in their long-term recovery. God has provided almost 100 VisionTrust Homes and Learning Centers to help the children in Myanmar succeed. Each day they receive food, education and discipleship. By experiencing the overwhelming love and grace of God, these children can gain a true sense of hope for their lives and the future.

An Orphanage That Brings Hope.

Nyein arrived at our orphanage in Myanmar at the age of three, malnourished and suffering from tuberculosis.

Her parents divorced when she was two years old because her father drank heavily and often tortured his wife and abused the children. When her mother remarried a man with the same tendencies, Nyein’s grandmother stepped in and brought her and her sister to VisionTrust’s Grace Home.

After a year of medical treatment Nyein fully recovered from her sickness. However, she had a lot to overcome from her early childhood abuse. Over the years she experienced consistent love, accepted Christ, and excelled in school.

This love and encouragement propelled her forward to graduate high school. She has now set her sights on becoming a computer technician and returning to the kindness of her community at Grace Home in order to teach the children how to use computers.

By partnering with us you can make goals that might seem unreachable for children in Myanmar that much more attainable. Join us in impacting communities in Myanmar.
