20,000 children die every day from preventable causes. A number this large, with
this much weight behind it is hard to visualize. These children are dying from lack
of food, clean water and curable illnesses. Our goal is to stop this cycle one child
at a time, one generation at a time. Our desire is to see the children we currently
serve grow up to be healthy mature Christians, empowered to their livess and their
community.
Did you know, one out of every four people on the planet live on less than $2 a
day? Many of which live on less than $1.25 per day. Extreme poverty is the underlying
cause of the vast number of children dying everyday. Our hope is to see extreme
poverty eradicated by giving children an opportunity for education while creating
jobs in the local community.
Many children never get the chance to get an education because they are left to
run the house and take care of younger children because both of their parents have
died from disease. Instead of having the opportunity to go to school, these children
are forced to fight for their very survival and in turn the cycle of poverty is
perpetuated. Our hope is that through education, awareness, and medical care the
next generation will not have to deal with the same hardships.
There are millions of children who are sold or kidnapped into slavery, and the number
is growing. For many children, their families sell them as slaves in order to pay
off debt or protect their own lives. These children are forced to work long hours
and many are forced into the sex slave industry. Children enrolled in one of our
schools or Learning Centers are less likely to be sold by their parents and have
a better chance of breaking the cycle of slavery in their community. Their education
and the love that they receive from our VisionTrust family gives them a brighter
future with greater opportunities to provide for their families and their communities
in the right way.
