Luan is a quiet little boy. He lives with his mother, grandfather and sister in an extremely poor area of Goiania. Her parents are separated. His mother is a maid but she struggles to provide for the family. Luan lives in an environment where drug abuse, domestic violence and unemployment are common social issues. The typical house is made of concrete block and mortar without indoor plumbing.
